Tom Roberts highlighting the life of Louis Armstrong – Free to attend

The Washington Jazz Society is honored in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month to provide a free program by Tom Roberts highlighting the life of Louis Armstrong. Through this interactive experience you will learn to appreciate the genius of Armstrong.

This is a multimedia experience with video, rare photographs, some seen for the first time in over 100 years, and state of the art remasterings of the classic recordings of Louis Armstrong.

About Tom Roberts:

Originally from Pittsburgh, Tom Roberts is one of the leading exponets of early jazz piano. He has performed on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, a Prairie Home Companion, arranged and performed the music for the soundtrack to The Aviator, and performed twice at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
