Featuring jazz music from Frank Cunimondo. \nAbout Frank Cunimondo: \nFrank was born in Pittsburgh and began playing music at the age of 6 studying classical piano. As a teenager he made a transition to jazz. He attended George Westinghouse High School\, where other notable jazz musicians had also been students including Ahmad Jamal and Erroll Garner. He later attended Carnegie Tech\, which subsequently became Carnegie Mellon University. \nIn the 1950s\, Frank Cunimondo moved to New York City where he continued playing professionally and immersed himself into the jazz scene. He eventually returned to Pittsburgh permanently. \nFrank Cunimondo has a long discography\, having recorded with nearly every artist from Pittsburgh. In addition\, he has shared the stage with a number of jazz stars including: Sonny Stitt\, Lou Donaldson\, Jimmy Witherspoon\, Urbie Green\, Lee Konitz\, Louie Bellson\, Joshua Redman\, Phil Woods and Frank Rosolino. The Frank Cunimondo Trio is also a fixture of the Pittsburgh Jazz scene. His most popular recording\, “Feelin’ Good” which he recorded with Lynn Marino\, is an international hit and is distributed on MoviePlay Gold. The title track has also been sampled and used in a number of European dance mixes. He distributes most of his recordings through his record label Mondo Records. \nHe has made a number of television appearances including The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. \nIn addition to performing\, Frank Cunimondo has a long career teaching jazz piano. He has previously taught at Duquesne University and currently teaches at the University of Pittsburgh[1] and at Carnegie Mellon. \nIn the 1980s he owned a jazz club in Pittsburgh called “Cunimondo’s Keyboard Jazz Supper Club.” \nIn 1989\, he was voted “Best Jazz Pianist” in Pittsburgh. His style is most often compared to pianist Bill Evans.

Featuring jazz guitar from Ken Karsh. \nAbout Ken: \nKen Karsh began playing guitar at the age of 9 and has been deeply involved in music and music education ever since. He attended Berklee College of Music and received his B.Mus. and M.Mus. in Performance at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh\, Pa. \nOver the past several years\, Ken has performed live and on recordings with nationally and locally known musicians such as Jimmy McGriff\, Barry Miles\, Spider Rondinelli\, Eric Kloss\, Bobby McFerrin\, Lee Konitz\, Larry Elgart\, Joe Negri\, Joey DeFrancesco\, “Papa John” DeFrancesco\, Jack McDuff\, Gene Ludwig\, Bernadette Peters\, Nathan Davis\, Michael Gibbs\, and Angel Romero. One of Ken’s proudest moments is his participation as guitarist for the soundtrack for the documentary film In My Hands\, which was directed by Ann Reinking with music composed by Jeffrey Saver. \nAs guitarist for a variety of Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera musical theater productions\, Ken has performed in such well know productions as Legally Blonde\, Swing\, Les Mis\, Jesus Christ\, Superstar\, Chess\, Chicago\, A Chorus Line\, Parade (composed by Jason Robert Brown\, who conducted)\, Fiddler on the Roof (performing on guitar and mandolin)\, Copacabana (composed by Barry Manilow) and The Lion King with the Gazelle Company at the Benedum Theatre in Pittsburgh\, PA. Ken has performed with such distinguished groups as the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra\, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra\, and the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra (performing on Mandolin). In 1981\, he was featured as the solo electric guitarist in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Andre Previn’s Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra. \nKen’s arrangements and etudes are featured in the Mel Bay and Warner Bros. publications\, Jazz Guitar Standards (2002) and Jazz Guitar Standards: Chord Melody Solos and Mel Bay’s Guitar Journals: Jazz. He has authored two textbooks for guitar: Jazz Scale Workout (Mel Bay Publications) and the self-published Fingerboarding Made EZ: Scale & Arpeggio Visualization for Guitar. Ken has two CD releases of his own compositions and jazz standards entitled Ventana and Conversations\, both on Alanna Records. Ken plays Archtop guitars made by Tim Brockman (brockmanguitars.com)\, utilizes Fender Amplifiers\, and is an endorsee for D’Addario Strings.

Featuring jazz music from Eric Suseoff. \nWell known to local jazz enthusiasts\, guitarist and composer Eric Susoeff has been part of the Pittsburgh music scene since his debut with Harold Betters at the Encore in 1976. Offering a warm\, bluesy\, full-bodied sound\, he has played with a long list of local and international luminaries including: Dizzy Gillespie\, David Amram\, Roger Williams\, Airto\, Ivan Lins\, Romero Lubambo\, Charo\, Frankie Avalon\, Marty Allen\, Eric Kloss\, Frank Cunimondo\, Gene Ludwig\, Pete Henderson\, Dave & Maureen Budway\, Sandy Staley\, Kenia\, Roger Humphreys\, Erin Burkett\, Kenny Blake\, Walt Harper\, Nathan Davis\, Don Aliquo\, John Wilson and many others. His primary focus continues to be his Latin jazz quintet Salsamba\, founded in 1984\, which has played to clubs\, festivals and colleges throughout the U.S. The group recently released their sixth recording titled “Mojito Blues.” Past releases (MAMBO IN BLUE\, MAMBO DEL SOL\, LATINVENTIONS\, THE TRAVELER\, BRAZILIA) all received critical acclaim. Additional recording credits include musical artists: Kenia\, Don Aliquo Jr.\, Sandy Staley\, Mike Tomaro \, Azucar and about 45 others. His flair for arranging the beautiful music of Antonio Carlos Jobim led to a 2005 CD with Soprano Lilly Abreu and Cuarteto Latinoamericano\, an internationally known string quartet. Eric has been seen on stage and TV playing everything from nostalgic rock to show tunes and avant-garde chamber music\, with groups as diverse as the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble\, The Marcels\, Carnegie Mellon University Drama Department and Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera.

He has released 2 solo guitar CD’s; MYTH AND FEELING\, and SOLO(S). \nHe was a student of jazz educator Charlie Banacos. \nHe is active in the quartet CrossCurrents\, a contemporary fusion group\, which he formed with bassist John Hall. \nHe is also active with Trio Music\,a trio of guitar\, upright bass\, and drums\, playing jazz and pop standards and original music. \nHe works also with vocalist Stacia Abbott.

Featuring jazz guitar from Ken Karsh. \nAbout Ken: \nKen Karsh began playing guitar at the age of 9 and has been deeply involved in music and music education ever since. He attended Berklee College of Music and received his B.Mus. and M.Mus. in Performance at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh\, Pa. \nOver the past several years\, Ken has performed live and on recordings with nationally and locally known musicians such as Jimmy McGriff\, Barry Miles\, Spider Rondinelli\, Eric Kloss\, Bobby McFerrin\, Lee Konitz\, Larry Elgart\, Joe Negri\, Joey DeFrancesco\, “Papa John” DeFrancesco\, Jack McDuff\, Gene Ludwig\, Bernadette Peters\, Nathan Davis\, Michael Gibbs\, and Angel Romero. One of Ken’s proudest moments is his participation as guitarist for the soundtrack for the documentary film In My Hands\, which was directed by Ann Reinking with music composed by Jeffrey Saver. \nAs guitarist for a variety of Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera musical theater productions\, Ken has performed in such well know productions as Legally Blonde\, Swing\, Les Mis\, Jesus Christ\, Superstar\, Chess\, Chicago\, A Chorus Line\, Parade (composed by Jason Robert Brown\, who conducted)\, Fiddler on the Roof (performing on guitar and mandolin)\, Copacabana (composed by Barry Manilow) and The Lion King with the Gazelle Company at the Benedum Theatre in Pittsburgh\, PA. Ken has performed with such distinguished groups as the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra\, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra\, and the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra (performing on Mandolin). In 1981\, he was featured as the solo electric guitarist in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Andre Previn’s Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra. \nKen’s arrangements and etudes are featured in the Mel Bay and Warner Bros. publications\, Jazz Guitar Standards (2002) and Jazz Guitar Standards: Chord Melody Solos and Mel Bay’s Guitar Journals: Jazz. He has authored two textbooks for guitar: Jazz Scale Workout (Mel Bay Publications) and the self-published Fingerboarding Made EZ: Scale & Arpeggio Visualization for Guitar. Ken has two CD releases of his own compositions and jazz standards entitled Ventana and Conversations\, both on Alanna Records. Ken plays Archtop guitars made by Tim Brockman (brockmanguitars.com)\, utilizes Fender Amplifiers\, and is an endorsee for D’Addario Strings.
